Professional biography

I studied mathematics at the University of Bonn (Diploma and Ph.D.; advisors: Y. Manin, F. Hirzebruch; Diploma advisors: F. Hirzebruch, D. Zagier). Postdoctoral and research positions followed at the Max-Planck-Institut für Mathematik (Bonn), Cambridge University, and UC Santa Cruz, supported in part by the DFG. After my Habilitation at the University of Freiburg, I joined Kansas State University in 2004 (Professor since 2018).
